We will be busy this Autumn and Winter, making, making, making, to prepare for the seasonal January re-opening. Whilst the gardens sleep, we make, make, make, restocking our yard with a small army of Plant Belles and other supports ready for action in the New Year.
The National Trust Garden at Knightshayes Court, Nr Tiverton, Devon, have introduced over 80 additional Plant Belle designs, to the wonderfully restored walled kitchen gardens.
The National Trust collaboration started back in 2008, with the former Head Gardener at Castle Drogo, Andrew Midgley. Together we created the 'George Belle'.
2023 Update: Behind the scenes we have been busy busy working Matthew Pottage (the youngest-ever curator of the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley gardens) to develop an all new plant support for one of the National Plant Collections held at Wisley. This collaboration has pushed us to design a completely new form of plant support not like any other. Today we have received confirmation from the intellectual Property Office, that the designs have now been fully protected, so we will soon be ready to reveal the new design, which has been developed to be useful both in the borders and in plant pots!
